Health insurers in Michigan were ordered to pay policyholders as much $89 million in medical loss ratio rebates following a ruling, federal health regulators announced on Monday. This ruling comes less than one month after the federal government announced that the health insurance industry could owe millions of consumers rebates thanks to health care reforms medical loss ratio.
Health Insurance Premiums Given Dollar Guidelines
After the Senate decided in 2009 that health insurance premiums were not being applied to medical claims appropriately, the government decided companies must follow specific guidelines of distribution as determined by the medical loss ratio.

I know that when I am shopping for something, for instance a car, I am very straight forward, even blunt, about what I want and how much I am willing to spend. I let the sales person know that its OK if they cant meet my needs, but that changing anything Ive told them is the end of the conversation. I have a mission and a budget and if I cant accomplish the mission within the budget, well, I drove there in a car and I can drive home in that same car.
Sales education has always been about the close and how, if the sales agent can get you emotionally attached to the sale and emotionally detached from your goals, your lines in the sand, they win.

Swintons director pay was boosted more than 1,000 per cent in 2009, according to Insurance Times.
In 2008 directors took home GBP1.5 million but in 2009 that changed to GBP16.3 million – more than ten times the previous year. Then in 2010 directors pay, including emoluments and pensions, went back down to GBP1.7 million, the website reported.
The news comes a day after Swintons French parent company, Covea, sacked entire board for “putting their short term interests ahead of the long term interests of the company”.
A spokesman said the 2009 years pay rise was not linked to yesterdays decision.
