The holiday add ons company, Essentialtravel.co.uk, has joined forces with motor insurance provider, swiftcover.com to launch an online travel extras hub for Swiftcover customers.

Music fans could be at risk of losing out financially as the majority of home insurance companies do not cover digital downloads, according to a recent study by Which?
The study by the consumer watchdog found that a third of leading home insurers standard policies fail to offer any form of protection, even though over 100m tracks are downloaded by Brits every year. Those that do offer cover generally limit it to around 1,000.
According to Which? only four providers, including HMV Digital, Play.com, 7 Digital and Tesco Entertainment, allow customers to re-download lost music . Read full story…

State-backed health insurance in Switzerland to cover complementary medicine

In Switzerland, health insurance, which is backed by the state, will now cover five types of complementary medicine until 2017 after the government issued a new ruling. There will however be an independent investigation of whether or not they work.
In 2009 there was a referendum in the country and 67 per cent of the electorate balloted in favour for complementary medicine to be covered by health insurance . The five therapies to be offered are homeopathy, herbal and traditional Chinese treatments, anthroposophic medicine, which among other techniques uses mistletoe to treat cancer and neural therapy, which is based on injecting local anaesthetics near nerve centres.
However in December, according to a scientific panel, acting on behalf of the Swiss government, the methods used did not meet objective measures of efficiency. Read full story…
